Hey guys, I’m glad you received a review from Earshot, which I think we can all agree is a crucial voice for all of us on the scene. The focal point for Earshot seems to be two fold, on the one hand being a voice for the traditionalists on the scene, and the other as an advocate for new and genre-stretching music. My personal view is that your band falls somewhere in the middle of this spectrum. I don’t find this music to be aurally challenging, but at the same time it isn’t easy listening bullshit. It lives well at either Lucid and the Musicquarium, but wouldn’t be something to program at the Good Shepherd Center. This fact in and of itself can tend towards skepticism from a reviewer when the music may seem playable on more than one type of radio station. I feel each of you reach deep on the record as soloists and communicators. This is shake your ass music, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a tight-knit album, well rehearsed and full of great compositions and soloing, and most importantly it’s honest music for the genre it represents.
Youre so awesome, man! I cant believe I missed this blog for so long. Its just great stuff all round. Your design, man…too amazing! I cant wait to read what youve got next. I love everything that youre saying and want more, more, MORE! Keep this up, man! Its just too good.
