I don’t mind the DI-DII championship idea, but the current format has the finals the weekend before Christmas. So another game would necessarily be pushed back to Christmas or between Christmas & New Year’s Day weekends, which presents major difficulties such as family conflicts, travel, etc. Not to mention that delaying until later would push into college and pro bowls/playoffs, which would make the HS “championship” disappear. Status quo is probably best.
