In Thailand genießt Tongkat Ali als Tung Sa Bekanntheit, in Indonesien ebenso als Pasak. Zusätzlich üblich ist die Benennung „Longjack“, was im Deutschen „gehender Stock“ bedeutet – eine Benennung, die auf die aphrodisierende Wirkkraft der Baumwurzel Bezug nimmt.
