E’ la primavera del 1981 a Bologna ed io ho otto anni. Devo fare la prima comunione. Famiglia praticante la mia. Bigotta va’. Ma c’è uno zio artista, un po’ fuori dagli schemi, e per la mia prima ostia mi regala un walkman. Pazzesco! C’è un altro zio, che invece suona in parrocchia, ma di musica se ne intende, e per il mio regalo prepara una cassetta di quelle registrate dai dischi, da 90 minuti. Lato A “Com’è profondo il mare”, lato B “Lucio Dalla”. Ho otto anni e le imparo a memoria. Ricordo dei sabato pomeriggio indimenticabili, con mio fratello ed un paio di amici. Ci chiudevamo nello studio di papà, serrande abbassate e lampada a fare l’occhio di bue. C’era un pianoforte, una chitarra, i bongo africani arrivati da chissà dove ed un evidenziatore per microfono. La musica alta e facevamo finta. Lo facevamo benissimo. “Disperato erotico stomp” era il nostro cavallo di battaglia, con tutte quelle parolacce, per un gruppo di bambini, il massimo. La mamma, anche questo ricordo, si raccomandava di non cantarla mai davanti al nonno: “…quella alta, grande, fica…”. Scimiottavamo anche molto “L’anno che verrà”, inno assoluto all’Amicizia, quella vera. E quei due che facevano finta con me trent’anni fa, sono ancora qui, con me. Quando ne ho bisogno.
E’ l’estate del 1983 e Nicola ha quasi un anno. E’ un po’ dura, mi ricordo questo, ad Avezzano. Io mi faccio comprare la cassetta “The best of Lucio Dalla” e una zia rompicoglioni fa tutta una tirata a mamma perché quelle canzoni ce le avevo già ed era stata una spesa inutile. Non era vero, però. In quella cassetta c’era “Mambo” che non avevo mai sentito prima: “Se d’amore è proprio vero che non si muore, non si muore, cosa faccio nudo per strada mentre piove?”. Cazzo!
Durante l’anno scolastico 1984/85 la mia compagna di banco si chiama Anna, ed io per tutto l’anno le canto “Anna e Marco”, rosicando non poco che a lei piaccia molto, ma perché è innamorata di un altro Marco, Magli. Il nipote di Bruno, quello delle scarpe. Avevo poche chance già all’epoca con le donne che mi piacevano.
E’ il marzo del 1987 e siamo in settimana bianca con gli zii romani. Ci alterniamo spesso nelle macchine e zio Gustavo da San Saba sulla sua Citroen ascolta solo una cassetta. Banana Republic. Vabbè, che ne parliamo a fa’.
E’ il settembre del 1988 e c’è un Volvone station wagon carico come un uovo che lascia i colli bolognesi per Roma. Ricordo bene anche quel momento e lo zio Alberto che mi si avvicina e mi dice: “Ehi ‘bocia, prendi ben qua, che così non ti scordi di noi” e mi regala “Dallamorandi”. Appena potevo il sabato e la domenica riscappavo a Bologna. Nelle cuffie sempre Lucio. Un inverno freddo e bellissimo passeggiando per i portici la sera, sperando di poter non tornare mai a Roma, odiata, terribile metropoli. Ricordo via degli Scalini, il Meloncello, il Pavaglione, Piazza Grande. E la casa di Lucio a via D’Azeglio e la casa di Illo a via Cesare Battisti. Sotto la quale giocavamo ai videogames, “Pacland” per la precisione, con un tossico di nome Luca che le mamme ci dicevano di tenere alla larga. E che di cognome faceva Carboni.
E’ l’inverno del 1990 e sono al Palaeur con Lele, mamma, Luciano, Leo e Ielma, al concerto di Lucio, quello di “Attenti al lupo”. Nei due anni precedenti, causa anche un disperato tentativo di sopravvivere al diventare romano, ho provveduto ad imparare a memoria tutta la discografia di Lucio, da “1999″ a “Cambio” appunto. Una scoperta continua. Dovreste farlo tutti, ora.
E’ il 1993 e sono innamorato. Pazzo. “Henna”.
E’ il 1996 e mi lascia facendomi a pezzi. “Canzoni”.
Dal 1996 al 2005 giochiamo il Mundialito, quasi tutti gli anni. E’ una storia che merita un altro post, ma per sintetizzare a chi non sa, immaginate una ventina, a volte anche più, di ragazzotti imbranati, goffi e malati di calcio, rinchiusi all’aperto di una grande campagna per tre giorni. Con un pallone, carne alla brace e tanto vino. La sera prima della finale andava sempre a finire che ci si lasciava andare parecchio e a me, oramai finalmente romano e felice di mixare i felsinei con i capitolini, si chiedeva la tassa di cantare “Disperato erotico stomp”. Ubriaco da non stare in piedi e con tanto di spogliarello che mimava fino alla fine le parole del capolavoro: “…ho chiuso un poco gli occhi e con dolcezza…”.
Nel 1999 compro il mio ultimo Lucio, quello di “Ciao”, il video con Iskra e Ricky è una delle cose più alla Dalla che abbia mai fatto, secondo me. E la canzone è molto più seria di quanto si pensi. Ma è anche l’ultima sua grande canzone. E la colpa è di non so di chi.
Non aggiungo altro perché uno dovrebbe tenere un blog apposta per scrivere di Lucio e delle sue canzoni. I ricordi qui sopra volevano solo fermare per un attimo l’importanza che ha avuto per me questo genio del nostro tempo. Oggi, che sono tanto triste per la sua morte. Io, che sono uno che ha letto poco e studiato meno, ma le cassette di musica di quegli anni le ha smagnetizzate tutte a forza di sentirle. Infatti non ho mai smesso di ascoltare “Il cucciolo Alfredo”, “Tango”, “Quale allegria”, “Viaggi organizzati”, “Se io fossi un angelo”, “Caruso”, “Cara” e tutte le altre. E ogni volta che voglio rituffarmi sotto i portici al riparo dalla neve, o ai giardini Margherita per sudare di quell’umidità che solo la Dotta tira fuori a primavera, o se ho voglia di una passeggiata in Piazza Grande con blitz in San Petronio o in San Domenico, dove Lucio lo vedevamo a volte la domenica a messa che non seguiva, ma passava il tempo ad accendere candele, ogni volta che ne ho voglia, dicevo, metto su “L’ultima luna” e chiudo gli occhi. E penso a quel disgraziato che dovrebbe essere in ognuno di noi.
Uno che maledice il giorno in cui è nato.
