We sailed on Carnival Glory last year and they did both x-ray scanning and opened some of our carry-on’s for inspection. It will also depend on how backed up the line is as to how extensive a search takes place. When in port you are subject to x-ray scanning of your carry on belonging when returning to the ship. This is just for every body’s safety.
