I think high carbs are the reason? we as americans are so over weight, we eat breads, lots of pasta, pizza, cookies, cakes, pies, pancakes,doughnuts, poptarts and cereal !! And all of that stuff is made from dough and sugar. I may check out atkins and switch to that, but in the last few days I have just been eating meat,vegetables and yogurt and drinking plenty of water, must admit I feel a lot better since dumping all the high carb foods
